oil? assuming it is a 899 by that do not drive the cars as you would be losing gearbox oil and can cause serious damage

the boots arnt that hard to replace and would only expect it to be a hours job tops, also as far as im aware the outers have to come off due to the inner boot not being able to fit over the bearing one way

No whitz its a 1.1 yes outer does have to come off as you carnt as you say get the inner over the bearing so its only a one way job unfortunatly.Tell if there was a pin hole in passingers side inner boot and you replaced the drivers side inner boot would that create pressure on the pin hole side ????

need some more car specs here

is it around a 2000 seicento with the wet shaft box?

as most 1.1s are dry shaft gearboxes, only seen 1 wet shaft 1.1 seicento before,
If the inner boot has a leak and it is the wetshaft box then it will just leak

easiest way to tell about the box is the cv boot bolted to the gearbox via a plate?

Ash

Sorry whitz yes its a 02seicento 1.1 its defo a wet shaft box yes its bolted to gearbox via plate 3 bolts i think in a triangular shaped plate .
