Sods law - working on the new brakes shoes and handbrake linkages on the rear of my sei - did the passenger side - no problems, drivers side, the last bolt won't come off the hub! I have slightly or bugged rounded the bolt :(

I need this bolt off tomorrow - I have spray loads of WD40 on it to get the rust off etc... and will leave as it is overnight and will try again in the morning with a adjustable spanner. Whats the best option for me if it doesn't come out? - bang on a 18mm socket? or take it down the Kwik-Fit and beg them to use a air-wench on it?

Mike

put some more on it, if you can, before you go to bed and a quick blast in the morning too. should come off ok then. when you refit it, spray some spray grease on to it to make sure it comes off ok next time.

try usin a decent set of mole grips on it stead of spanner itll come off ok but be carefull and make sure you dont shear the head of the thing, that wont be too good, like every1 else said use loads of lube i.e wd40 (y)

i been through this many times workin on me panda :D

I chickened out :D - took it to Kwik-Fit as it wasn't going anywhere - they got the air-wench on it and the bloody thing came off after a few tries - copper grease on it now to stop it happening again :)

Other than that - thanks guys/girls - I saved myselve a packet replacing the brakes and hand-brake leaver myself.

Those who have thirsty sei's - check the handbrake linkages in the drum - if that is seized it will drink the fuel as its bonde against the drum. My brake shoes was welded nearly!!!

Now the dreaded MOT retest
