how much, roughly, should i be looking at to get this dent/crease removed from the rear quarter panel(just below rear window)

would it still look like it was there?or would it be virtually gone and not noticable?

the paint is ok and not cracked.

thanks in advance.

(best pic i got)

You could get a lot of that out yourself with the flat of your hand inside the aperture.

It looks kinked at the top, that will be the really difficult bit to get out and will involve shrinking the metal back. That involves heat so will need repainted.

I'd be tempted to loose the worst of it myself and leave the kink the way it is, unless someone else is paying.

Cheers

I'd ignore if you do anything and then have an accident the assessor will say damaged car improving it write off and offer less, instead hope they hit that side, say it was perfect too late now you have published a photo.

thanks for the replies

i have not actually bought the car,i have been and looked at it and just wondered what the work/cost involved would be.

thanks again!

there will be plenty more cars to buy, a dent or scrape in nearly all the other panels is easily sorted as the panels can be replaced [wings, doors, bumpers, bonnet, tailgate] but in the rear quarter isnt really doable unless its an insurance claim, even then i think it'd be written off due to cost

Couldn't one of the 'smart repair' people get it out with all their levers and hammers and things?

(The process where they 'massage' the metal back into shape)

Probably not worth it for a Cinq, but still.

PDR people are only really trained to remove parking dents, and other things like that.

Anything that is going to take longer than an hour to remove they say no too. I had a large dent on my blue sei, I asked a chap to come and have a look at it and he parked up, looked at it ,said no and drove off :bang:.

Another chap I spoke too said it would need sliding out then possibly fill what was left and respray.

I suppose it depends on the person you ask, but it could be pricey.

Personally I would push it from behind then give the heat up and dry ice approach on the centre. It should pull the remains and leave an un-noticeable amount after.

Thanks
