Hi i have just changed the sump gasket and oil on my sei, however i started the car up today for the first time and the oil is leaking pretty badly down the gearbox side of the sump so i switched the car off and i plan to get a new sump and reseal once more. I was wondering whether i should get new oil as i have only started the car a couple of times on this oil and it seems like a waste just disposing of it? Also how much RTV should i put on the sump as i dont think i put enough on the first time and this is what caused the problem.

What engine has the car got?

1242 p60 engine 8v.

From memory a 4mm bead. The track of the bead must go, as it were, inside the holes for the bolts (or you'll get leaks). Important to clean both surfaces very well (I like to use acetone or spirit wipe after a really good scraping) -- give the RTV time to go off after re-assembly.
