Why oh WHY when Cinqs get to 3kRPM, do they stop to contemplate going any higher? It's the most annoying lag ever! Anyone know how to combat this apparent 'characteristic', or even know why it happens? [}]

It sounds like your Lambda sensor has gone. I don't know how much they cost or how easy they are to fit cos mine has never needed replacing.

It might also be worth checking your air filter and spark plugs etc.

Get a K&N and some new plugs/HT leads. I had the same flat sport, and a K&N sorted it, with the aid of new plugs.

All cinqs have the flatspot, as said better filter (panel, K&N or full induction kit) will improve things, as will good plugs (recommend Bosch Super 4's), a decent exhaust and a chip.

LAMBDA SENSOR!?!?!??! Only had the thing a day, dont say that i'll cry!!!!

Think i'll go get some new sparkies and check out the air filter. Cheers for your help, i'll let u know how i get on.

BTW My wiper flew off on the way to work today and the washer bottle holds less water than the 'lakes' on the moon, but i still love my Cinq :I

yeah i'll second the bosch super 4's. fitted some in my sporting last week, well worth the money!

Fitting a 1242 punto throttle bodie gets rid of this too!

I have considerably more mods, THAN YOU!​

Me and my m8 both bought Champion sparks thort they were pretty gd 36,000 miles life. Btw where can i get this thottle body and is it easyish 2 fit as every little bit of power for the cinq helps [8D]

Scrapyards - on Punto 60's. Look for the size (32mm) dot stamped on the flat face on the back, next to where the fuel line comes in. Standard Cinq ones are 30mm - doesn't sound much but it makes a difference. Even better if it's gasflowed.

Ok my b*st*ard exhaust started blowing on the way home yesterday! Luckily i got a months warranty on the car but i think im gonna have to put the Sparko's money into an exhaust fund!

WAHEEEEEY!

Had a whole new exhaust fitted by vendor, and now the 3k RPM 'pause' has pretty much disapeared!! Add this to getting the washer pipes fixed and the half a tube of Auto-Chrome i used on the alloys and tail pipe and my little bitch is as good as new! *chuffed face[^]*

And to the plank who tried to race me in his 106 today, I WON NEH-NEH!!

GD to hear u got it sorted i find that once mines warmed up the 3000 rpm dieing has gone.

Glad it going better...I took off the hot cold air mix valve thing and this on its own improved that buzzy flat spot about 3500 rpm thats cheap..and bosch super fours are really good in the Fire engines.

what hot cold air mix valve and what would you set it to hot or cold. are you on avout the thermostatically controlled flap in the air box
