hello all, need to pick your electrial brains..

i replaced my rear right night bulb.. the other one was blown.. for some reason, the light does not work... but the brake does.. so assume the fuse is fine or the brakes light will not come on.

The rear lights are the same as brakes but the rear lights dont come on... what can the problem be...? fuse ok.. the other light works... i need help!

Your explanation is well dodgy but from what your saying basically one bulb does two jobs. It is a tail light and a brake light ie there is two filaments in each bulb. Therefore it is possible to just blow one filament leaving in your case the brakes working and the tail lights out ok

yes... my explaination.... i replaced the bulb at the back for lights and the brake lights works as one... so the bulb is new... brakes work but back light does not..

cheers

David. (y)

lol cheers motor world chink... your right, my english is bad... much like your explanation.. lol.

cheers for your positive feedback...

David, check the filaments, if the're both OK the most likely cause is the bulb holder, have a look to see if the contacts are dirty or corroded, check that the bulb goes in OK and that when it locates on the pins there is pressure from the contacts in the holder. You may have to bend the holders up a little to ensure good contact.

If this doesn't work its best to get a meter on the holder to see if there is any current.

Hope this helps.
