there are bigger puntos than 1.2

so couldbe we get a punto 1.6or.4or.8 engine and put that in a cinq

can you even think of a 1.8 cinq!!!!!

The 1242 is the highest capacity FIRE engine. That means its a bolt for bolt swap. Most Punto Engines bigger than that are of the SuperFIRE (Punto MPi \ Punto > 1242cc) or Modular (as fitted to Bravo\Brava) architecture, and so will swap, but major fettlage is needed.

Yu could shoehorn the larger engine in, but New ECU, wiring loom and reshaping of the engine bay (using a lump hammer) is needed...so its not impossible, just a Pain in the Arse, when the 1242 8v is easy, and the gains it gives are worthwhile!!

It's a size thing basically. Anything bigger than the 1.2 is hard to fit in without lots of expensive work.

Basically anything bigger than a 1.2 and you'd be better off buying a faster car in the first place.
