I have a major oil leak on my Seicento Sporting and it looks to be the sump..
I have had the sump off and there is no gasket on it..is it just a face fit with sealant?
I didnt put a gasket on it as it never had one on, i cleaned all the old stuff off and resealed it but its leaking the same. I think it must be the rear main crank oil seal as its dripping from right there.
Am I right in thinking there is no actual gasket as such on the sump?

I left it overnight, it is dripping right where the rear crank oil seal is so I'm not sure if its that or the sump...
My gearbox oil was low too, so I was unsure if its engine or gearbox oil as I'd just done a oil change so the oils look kinda the same.
Can't see how the gearbox can drip from there though:confused:
Unless is something higher up thats leaking and running down through the gearbox bell-housing..
I havent had the car long so I've just been ironing out any problems but I've left the car at work as its dripping quite a lot.

I dont know... you could be right..is there a seal there?
I'm hoping its anything except the rear crank seal as I could do without taking the gearbox out:eek:

if you take the coil pack and holder out (3 bolts i think) then there is a seal behind there on the end of the cam. mine has been leaking and made one hell of a mess!

OK , thanks for that I might go and have a quick look tomorrow if I can be bothered.
