Ok, just been out in the car and the throttle stuck open, so if i put the clutch in it would slowly rev up to 4000. few taps on the throttle and its gone back to normal.

it has done this twice before and the second time was two days ago, so i fear its getting more common.

any suggestions.

(good cruise control on mway though haha)

There's a sort of rubber bit on the end of the throttle cable that can come loose and generally do all kinds of wierd things. Can be safely removed.

Oi veh! = strange Yiddish expression which can mean just about anything depending on how it's said. Romani equivant = Joj! (Pronounced Yoy!)

Failing that, could be fubared TPS.

cool. ill look at the nipple thingy in the morning,

cheers for the explanation of oi veh.

and TPS, throttle position sensor???? and would it not cause idle chasing??? i have now i mention it noticed my idle to be at 1100. but does sometimes slowly increase to 2000 and back over and over again.

hi, looked at the cable and indeed the nipple wasnt situated right, causing a higher idle and a unpredictable throttle. moved it back for now and if it does it again ill chop the bugger off.

thanks for your help as usual. cheers

Hi, I'm having a problem with my throttle too, it seems to be having a mind of it's own when returned to rest position... Could anyone tell me which end of the cable is this troublesome nipple located please?

if im on about the right one and the one causing me problems, look to the left of your throttle body, where u can see bare wire of the throttle cable, on the end of the sheith there is a black nipple, have a fiddle see what it does :p:p:p
