Seem to be getting a slight knocking whilst doing full turns, any idea? Is this the CV joints? If so can I fix it myself or is it a garage jobby.

Thanks.

I couldn't really tell about vibration when driving. My mate drove it when he first bought it and said he though the tracking was out as there was some vibration whilst driving.

Check for play on the trackrod ends - How, where, what???

Anyone got any clues on this clicking/knocking sound? I get it when turning full lock to the right :(
Full lock to the left is fine.
If its the CV joint, then do I have to change the whole driveshaft?
I get vibrations when Im at about 65+ mph.
Ive just had laser tracking done but havent had balancing done yet.

Dunno about changing the CV joint as it's not a mini !!

Wheel balancing being out can make a big difference. Does the vibration
stop when you get to a certain speed or is it there all the time at 65+ ?

If one side full lock is ok then it does sound like a dodgy CV joint though
or something similar.

A mate has the same prob with his Polo. Knocks like a git at full lock. Reckons its the CV Joint.
Karwing, It may well be one of yure CV Joints on the drivers side driveshaft. Give the shaft a good wiggle, it shouldnt move at allother than in a circular motion i understand

Carla: The vibrations do stop when i hit about 70 but comes back. Its not as bad as it used to be without the tracking being done.

Tom: The knocking is coming from the passenger side. If it is the CV joint then do I just change over the whole driveshaft? Would it be easier this way?
How long can you drive with a duff CV joint?

I think mine is probabily CV's. Anyone know where I can get new driveshafts for cheaper then £60 each.

Thanks.
