General Exhaust rubbers

General Exhaust rubbers

I must have been quite lucky as mine just pulled off without too much trouble. Saying that, it did involve some stretching/levering with a screwdriver. Sooo easy to put back on though (y) If they're looking perished it would be worth replacing as they're pretty cheap

the rubbers are sound, I just can't get them passed the turned up end's, it's probably not helping matters that the cars jacked up on one side using a pallet truck and some scrap wood that was lying around, I've not got that much room, and I darnt just rag at them.

sorry I didn't get the warning, WD-40's just found another use, they slipped off a treat. just got my new (ish) £5 ebay exhaust fitted and it purrrrrss :slayer:

what do ya think? I need to finish the bmper off, but I'll strt on that in a bit. not bad to say i fitted it using a pallet truck, some wood and about an hour while I'm all alone at work:devil:

just a quick question, see the exhuats rubber, there is 3 holes, big one in the middle and 2 wee ones

So i take it the top small one hook to the car and the bottom one hook to the exhaust ?

Is that correct?

Thanks
Ming

Because it a water displacer and not a lubricant
very true...but you dont want a lubricant on this kind of thing. soapy water might even work but WD is a penetrating fluid and works instantly. a lube would work for ever and maybe collect road crap or make the rubbers slip off (altho unlikly)

I used WD40 to refit the rubbers and when i needed to remove the exhaust a week later the rubbers where stuck solid again (y)
