Right well forgot to say say it's all back together and no blows :D

Ok and as we all love pictures :D

Before I got it finally finshed decided to get more shiny bits so popped over to Merlin Motorsport today with the idea of fitting in the afternoon but the rain put me off

Also after asking about the mouting brackets and the guy there saying no one had ever actually used them successfully I popped into B&Q

Hopefully can bend them in a vice and should be nice and secure..

Going to finally get round to ordering other bits I wanted as well tonight :D

Let me know how you get along with fitting the hose. I have the same barbs, but black aeroquip hose. I was told its just a push on...just was a nightmare to get on.

One of them still isn't fitted on all the way

Looking great though. Oil cooler is huge though as said :D

Cheers,

Kristian

Ahh I think i've noticed what i've done

I think Aaron got a 19 row but 115mm and I got a 235mm one

Ah well bigger is best ;)

Kristian the guy there said to but the ends into boiling water for a few seconds to make the hose a bit more pliable.. mines the same but they do it in blue as well :yum:

EDIT:

Yeah, thats what they said on the phone, but it was fooking hard!! Still, your hose is different so hopefully easier :)

Never done it, but this is how they used to show you how to do it in the Goodrige catalogues:

Wear work gloves.

Lightly lubricate the inside of the hose.

Slide on the clamping section (make sure it's the right way round!)

Push the end fitting it as far as you can by hand.

Holding the hose in your gloved hand, repeatedly bash the end fitting against something solid (block of aluminium, hardwood, etc.) until it's fully on, then screw up the clamping section.

Nope the air con flow will be affected by the oil cooler ;)

I know my priorities :D

Good intentions, and given the limited space the only way to go is probably to put the oil cooler in front of the air con thingy, but having something behind the oil cooler will still affect the air flow through it: the air will tend to stall, or get confused, as the air con rad creates a higher pressure area.

It's why I'm always telling people off for trying to stuff more air into the engine bay without creating a path for it to get out.

Just think, if you'd recruited Ms.Laminova, you'd have none of these blockage problems! :yum:

Nope because it would sat in the box unfitted for weeks ;)

If it fails to make any difference, which I very seriously doubt, i'll just bin the air con rad off (y)

Tbh was pretty much joking as I really can't see a properly gassed up air con not working effectively still even with the cooler in front of it..

And for the size of the cooler there is no way it wont work well enough I don't think..

Might go size it up if it stops raining today though (y)

Didn't make myself that clear.

I didn't mean when the stat opens exactly, but when oil is flowing though the rad, it has a large capacity and lots of long tubes, this will probably cause a loss in oil pressure through the oil pump.

It may make no difference, but its something to keep an eye on. The smaller the rad, the higher the pressure. So its a balance of cooling vs pressure.

Cheers,

Kristian
