I've fitted my new exhaust today and realised that I have a oily leak!
Its coming from the bottom right of the engine looking at the front of the car. I haven't had a proper look yet but i guess its been leaking for a few days now because there is black stuff all over the rear gearbox mount and the wishbone area.
Can anyone suggest whereabouts the leak would come from so I can check it tomorrow? Weather is crap at the mo, Dont wanna get struck by lightening!

Any help much appreciated!

Take it too a garage if you aint sure. They put a UV dye in your oil. You run it for a day and take it back. They then put a black light under the bonnet and you can then see clearly where the leak is coming from.

These often rust more than anything else but on the sporting some of the gaskets are poor so wouldn't suprise me mate.

You could drain all the oil and unbolt the sump and reseal with sikaflex and you won't get the problem again.

Ive got a 899CC Liam, although if it is the sump gasket do you mean put the new gasket in and seal with the thing you said or just seal onto the old gasket which is already on there?

Ghost is right, or pressure wash the area and check after a 15 min drive.

Just seal with new gasket and some sikaflex and it should do the trick.

Jacked up the car and found that it looks as though the leak is coming from the inner CV boot (gearbox End)
I'll try and get the part and get the garage to fit it.
Is this boot easy to fit?

Ok peeps just had a talk to my sisters bf and i just want to know how much should the CV boot leak if it has split?
I ask this because this CV boot has leaked quite alot of **** out.....
Is this CV boot greased by the gearbox oil? or by grease in a packet?
the stuff leaking outta this one was more watery than thick greasy stuff....?

Also whats good for getting CV boot grease off wheels?
