I'm after a set of low comp forged pistons for the 8v 1242 engine.

i know a few people have them here, but can anyone tell me the companies where they purchased them, so they already have all dimensions etc.

I'm after comp-ratio of 8:1

Thanks Andy

This search was bought to you by the letters f o r g e and d and the numbers 1 2 and 4 :D

EDIT: you could ask Guy Croft, he has pistons made up to his own design, so he would do it, but only contact him if you are serious as I guess they would be expensive. His price list shows TC pistons at about £650 to £700 a set, plus you need to allow for rings, little ends, etc etc.

Id look at getting some imported. The weakness of the dollar against the pound makes it favourable.

Genrally getting forged pistons doesn't introduce any more problems in the engine where a decomp plate does. You have an extra pair of surfaces to seal, they also can be damaged during fitment if you're not careful & even if fitted properly they're like a very thick gasket so can end up blowing just like one too :(. Add to the fact that engines seem to produce less power and torque when using decomp plates rather than forged pistons & you have a well enginered bodge imo.
