Bertie (my cinq) is coming along nicely - red sporting bumpers are going on end of next week, but here's a lil look at his current status

This is how he looked the day after I bought him...


Then I made a few minor improvements...


New Badge...


The Old door cards had to go;

...and now they look like this...


Made some custom inserts for the heater controls and flipped my center console to blue...


Chucked in a new stereo system...


Added some dash switch controlled floor lighting...


As well as some sensor controlled floor lighting for better illumination when the doors are open...



New exhaust went on today...


And finally the arse end...



As I say - new bumpers going on this coming week, will post pics when I get chance

Yeah, I've been thinking about a center console... not 100% sure how to take one out of a sporting / put it in to my car - the good ole haynes is a little vague on things like that

The exhaust looks alot better IRL than in those pics - will look even better when the bumpers go on.
Im looking into doing a custome fibreglass apron for the rear bumper, so that should help make the exhaust look a little subtler...

Coming along nicely I'd loose the red things on the wipers though, look very cheap and tacky IMO. And do i spy an unleaded sticker still on the side??

thats coming along nice, only things i would say is
-lose the red things on the wipers again
-lose the seat covers (can pick up a sporting interior for less than £50 and alot more comfy and look 20x better imo)
-buy some sporting door cards & bits that go on the door cards (as imola blue and red bits look a bit mix & match to me),
-sporting centre console & sporting leatherette gear gaitor (only 2 bolts to fit!)
-replace the gear knob with a sporting one or something nice and subtle
-smooth over the recess in the boot or buy a smoothed boot
-fit some electric window switches and motors (if possible)
i have recently broken a red sporting so i have basically all the above that needs shifting.. it is a nice little cinq but if it was mine thats what i'd do..

Yeah - there's still lots to do, but I've only had the car since the middle of January so I'm pretty much tinkering every time I get a day off work.

My current "to do" list is constrained purely by money (or lack of) - heres the important next jobs...

*Self fit alarm system (more for piece of mind than anything else), consisting of door, bonnet, and boot sensors - interior sonics and a shock sensor.

*Sporting center console (picking one up from my local scrappy on thursday, as well as a set of gauges from an 899 cinq he's got in - gonna pretty much destroy the new guages so I can figure out how to take out the dodgy green glass behind my speedo etc...)

*250 watt Kenwood amp and 12" JBL sub in a custom box should be going in a week today (new 80 watt kenwood speakers already installed up front, and Accoustic solutions 100 watt ones in the rear, hooked into an MOS mp3 head unit.

*delock, dewiper and rear wash jet the boot - might take a while for this to get done, as I have more pressing issues to deal with - but it's on my list.

*single front wiper conversion

*refurb the wheels - can't decide between high gloss black with the recesses left silver, or high gloss black with the recesses painted red...

*re trim the door cards in black suade (or if this proves to be waaaaaay to expensive, as I'm sure it will, get some out of a sporting.... the blue ones really were more of a stop gap since they were very very very cheap from my usual scrappy )

*When the weather starts getting better I'm going to spray up the black trim down the side of the car (ala side skirt style) until I can afford / afford to declare, some genuine abarths.

Erm... I'm sure there were loads of other little jobs on my list, but I kinda forgot what they are

Will post more pics on thursday hopefully when I've got the new bumpers on

I actually cheated with that big time - found a seller on ebay that does them (godzilla252 was who I used but there are other selling this sort of thing).
This isn't a genuine fiat badge - it's backed with a crazy strong adhesive, so If you get one make damn sure you position it correctly first time or you stand to lose some paint!
I'm hoping to get a custome bonnet made up in the summer, so this was more of a temperary thing for me.

....right, just got my lazy ass outta bed - so now it's BUMPER TIME WOOOOO!!!

Absolute bugger of a job - took alot longer than I thought it would, total time would be about 2 hours.
After which I immediately set about fitting my new alarm system (nearly finished, waiting for the sonic modules and a spare door trigger for the boot to arrive...), which took about 1 hour.

Off to the scrappy today to see about a center console and some other bits and bobs but I've just had a tooth out so I'm in no mood to fit owt today :yum:

Looks much better, all that time out there and you still have silly red wiper covers though.

Look for some sporting wing mirrors now

lol - i like my silly wiper covers

leaving the wing mirrors for now, I've got some black cup style ones from a vw polo, which should fit once I get my hands on some baseplates

So long as you like them i suppose i'll let you off just this once lol
