as the title says, i have a red gp and the bumpers are two tone pink/red :/ i know the only way to get this back to red is to spray it, but how do i keep it red for the future?
Avoid the sunshine
And red faided paint can be restored to a nice red by some elbow grease and polish
Ziggy
even on the plastic bumpers? iv tried everything i can think of, im willing to try anything before i shell out to get em sprayed :/
keeping your red car... well red!
Because its still plastic - plastic primer - Paint
Any fine cutting polish compound should help restore the colour - but it'll take elbow grease
ziggy
that won't work the gp is clearcoated over the paint and its the pigment that is bleached not the clear coat
Unless hazing of the clearcoat occurs. Frosting the clearcoat will give the paint a pink look also.
But in future loads of wax with good uv protection will be the best thing to stop further degradation.
I know.
Was just pointing out there are other potential reasons.
Car-Chem are starting to test colour charged wax Red, blue, yellow and something else can't remember. This may help to a point but it doesn't even start testing till tomorrow so it's all just theory right now.
I've seen black pigmented wax on a white car. I'll just say it needed a good polish again afterwards.
