Hi All,
I'd like to ask your advice on the above mentioned issue.
My problem is that when I push the clutch pedal down a bit I feel it is shaking. It's getting worse :( However, when I push it almost down, the pedal is almost out, I do not feel the same problem, the feeling is much better, shaking seems to be gone. Moreover, the pedal is quite hard, I need muscle to push it down. I don't now it is normal or not.
Engine has 1820000 km. (1.9 M-Jet , 90Le)
What can be the problem?

I really appreciate your help.

Cheers,

Do you know when the clutch was last changed?

If the clutch has been changed recently it sounds like the release bearing might not have been changed at the same time or even worse the dual mass flywheel.

Does the engine sound different when the clutch is pressed?

Well, the engine is a bit noise, but I think it is normal ? I don't hear any strange noise by default. However, yesterday I noticed that when the clutch is half pressed a slight, strange noise comes from somewhere.
No, unfortunately I don't have info about the clutch change. The previous owner did not repair anything on the car. The clutch may be the original one.

Does the engine sound like it has a rattle until you press the clutch in.....if so it could be the bearing but get it checked at a garage :)

like a rattlle... not really, but yes, definitely, I need to get it checked.
Thanks a million for your help!

Cheers,

A rattle before pushing the clutch in sounds more like the dual mass flywheel, also the shaking on the peddal sounds right too...

If this has the M32 box - can you press down on the gear stick when in neutral - does it shake / vibrate? if yes - then more than likely the Dual Mass Flywheel.

If its making a noise when clutch half pressed or resting on the clutch - its probably the release bearing.

If you need to buy the DMF - you can buy the one labelled for the Astra / Vectra 1.9 CDTi engine - they are the same engine and price will be a bit cheaper ;)

Hope that helps.

br,
Dan.

To me, based on the description, it sounds like the DMF is bad.
You could also buy the DMF based on the code from LUK... will be about 200-250gbp.

If it was the release bearing, it would act the same half pressed and fully pressed.

Yea - You put it into much better context lol.

The last taxi i was in, we was chatting about DMF's - he goes through them like 1 every year, its not the mileage he does - his vectra has 200k on it and he's on his 5th DMF, its down to how you drive it, dont pull away in the wrong gears, dont drive like a taxi driver really low down in revs (it puts strain on the DMF). - sorry totally went off point, was meant to say - he pays £150 for his DMF's (maybe its a crap make and a bad driver thats making his fail so often).

As far as I know, my car had the Clutch kit and DMF changed at around 77k, should be good for more than double that now (i know how to drive her properly)

Hi Dan, Hi Aurick86,
Many thanks for your advice. As for the rattle, The engine has a typical diesel noise, however, I have not heard any other diesel Bravo's engine, so I don't know what sound is normal, but for me, my engine has a typical diesel sound, maybe, a but noisier than other diesel engines. But, I don't hear bad rattle noise... However, when the engine starts, I hear something at the moment when I release the ignition key, it sound like a crack (snap?) but it takes only for a moment when I start the engine.
As for the gear stick, it does not vibrate but I did not push it down. I just put my hand on the stick and it did not vibrate. However, today I felt a little vibration on the dashboard and in the seat when the engine was running on idle power. Getting worried ....
