I was thinking on buying a ELM 327 Bluetooth 1.4- OBD II, but I don't know if I can leave it pluged in permanently or not.
By the way. Is this the best OBD to use in a T-Jet or are there any other?
This one is about €17 and I've got the FiatECUScan software.
Thx

don't pay attention to LeighJet150 comment, he doesn't know that you're talking about the ELM 327 BLUETOOTH DONGLE.

You shouldn't leave it connected since it will drain your battery if you leave it with engine off for a long period of time.

I once forgot it at night and my car started fine, but that's because I have a multijet with a bigger battery than yours.

There is another model made in USA that is much more expensive but doesn't drain the battery when left plugged in.

Thanks for that Tad, I seem to have over read the bluetooth bit, I use a USB one myself to prevent forgetting it or leaving it plugged in! Also the Cable ones are slightly cheaper :p I got a pretty good quality one too for next to nothing, thing is you have bluetooth but everytime you need to use it you have to open it up and connect it anyways!

No problem mate, the Bluetooth one is much more useful than the cable since you can use it with a smart phone or tablet to display live stats and gauges while you're driving.

I have a custom skinned version of torque software on my android phone that I use to check various engine stats like HP, Turbo pressure etc..

Bit the bullet and just bought one from Amazon, that way no issues if it doesn't work correctly.

So I know about Fiat ECUScan, which I will try and buy if it works on all the Fiats in the family but what are the android apps that exist and which are worth looking at?

There are only two great apps : Torque and DashCommand

Both are paid apps but Torque's free version is fairly useful.

DashCommand is less customizable and less stable but is better looking and easier to use when it works.

Yeah I have to say I have seen Torque for Android, Got a lot of good reviews etc, how would you rate it Tad? I would get the paid version, just need to buy a Bluetooth ELM which is fine.
