ok have a strange creaking sound coming from steering wheel.been to fiat today, and was told it a steering column switch £249 yp you read that right.

has anyone changed one ? and if i don't change it what is likely to happen as at the moment every thing is working. and just has the slight creaking sound

I would recommend the dealership change it, if you cant put up with the noise.

lol 249.00 for just part is a lot of money, all i have to do is turn the stero up, but the question is will any thing fail on the car ie lights , wipers ect ?

Teapot and Bravo 1 stalks weren't. Mine on both cars had to be changed. On the Teapot one almost went up in flames - smoke everywhere. And on the B1 Mr AA had to fit about half-a-dozen patch leads so I could get home.

Were talking later (new) bravo switches though.

still haven't answered question though, if i don't change it. will i lose the use of something? and is it nothing to do will steering at all ? dont want to be driving down rd and have something nasty happen do i

How can we answer that though, we dont even know where the noise is definately coming from, if its the clockspring itself then yes there is a chance the horn wont work and airbag light come on.

in my first post i said fiat have said ie i have been to fiat dealer and they said the its that part .

What if they are wrong though? prefer to see/hear things for myself.
