Hi i have well i think you all know by now a fiat bravo 1.4 active and ive starting to worry alittle as my clutch bit is very weak the car has only done about 5000miles and is still working normally with not clutch slipping but just seems as if the bite is very weak. so im just wondering for thoughs that have a petrol bravo what is your clutch like.

Its normal. I did a test drive on a T-Jet 150 and the clutch is very light, lighter than my Renault Megane which is ligher than many...:)

On the diesel the clutch is heavier.

Well its odd you say that because on my Bravo and the previous one I test drove the clutch was really heavy. Especially comparing it to my 10 plate Grande Punto, I almost put my foot through the floor after driving a week in the bravo then going back to the Punto.

My 165 Sports clutch is extremely heavy compared to the other halfs new Punto Evo.

as light as anything, hell of a lot better than the 147 to drive in traffic, that thing feels like a tank compared to the bravo....saying that the clutch is buggered on the 147....along with the suspension, breaks, engine (mahoosive oil leak) on a plus the electrics are mint :D

Why so on the diesel please? I assumed the heaviness of my 150 Sport MJet clutch was a sports thing, i.e. stiffer clutch spring equals quicker engagement and hence a sportier drive.

The clutch in my 2008 1,6 Eco diesel is - by far - the lightest touch clutch I've ever experienced. And I think it goes well with the overall character in the car - I wouldn't like the same clutch in a sportier model.

after going from my v6 ZT to my 1.9 BRAVO Diesel, i had to keep looking down to make sure i was on the clutch it was so light.

Strange to have such mixed responces. My clutch is quite heavy, not really bad, but still quite firm. I like it, gives a more meaty drive, but makes the old leg ache in alot of stop - start. It could do with beeing just a bit lighter, then it'd be perfect :). I have a 150 m-jet sport.
