Having already established elsewhere on FF that dealership staff are the last people to find out anything, I thought I'd turn to Bravo owners and fans to ask the question.

(I have done a search and couldn't find anything, but apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere)

Are there any plans/rumours/speculations about a Bravo Sporting joining the range?

If there are, what is it likely to be in terms of additional specification to the existing Sport? Or what would you like it to be?

Sport can also have 17" alloys!

There are rumours of an Abarth version. Will it happen? Maybe, maybe not. It's 150bhp which is plenty to be sporty with the posibility of upto 190bhp in the near future with the bi-turbo multijet diesel.

As for extras... Perhaps a Q2 esk limited slip diff as keeping power down on both wheels on anything other than a good surface can bring on the dreaded yellow circle of traction control :(

I've heard of a 1.8 T-jet being developed. Whether this is an engine that would be used in a Bravo Sporting or Abarth is something I think we will have to wait and see.
It is being developed

There are two new Bravo models coming in the next six months. A 2.0 16v MultiJet 165 GT and a 1.8 T-Jet (BHP not yet known) GT :D :D

Obviously Fiat have decided using the 'Sporting' name doesn't fit in with the Bravo range, so they're calling it GT instead.

Now unlike the GP Abarth (which I dont like the look of), an Abarth/GT/Whatever bravo should look prett darn good.

The base model bravo looks pants imo, and that can only mean the top end ones will look pretty smart.

Says who?

What's a 2.0 16v multijet going to have over a 1.9 16v multijet? 15bhp isn't much to write home about.

When are the new cambelt-less uni air engines coming out? (Valves controlled by air solenoids instead of a cam?

You're right, but it will undoubtedly also have more torque, be quicker, faster and be better equipped than the current range-topping Sport.

Plus maybe more economical because newer engine? I like the sound of the GT's. I agree the base model bravo don't look nice but thesports do.

Yes I must say the 1.8-T seems unlikely certainly in this time period. Went to fiat the other day and the guy said they have heard nothing on such a model and he's more like a friend known him for years so I don't think he'd keep it from us.

As for a 2.0 16v apologies if this does become reality, but seems so unlikely when the 1.9 multijet is already in the range? Just makes no sense. Especially with weight and pricing options.

We shall see, but it is looking ever more unlikely. And have to agree with comments above.

The t-jet and existing engines have such great potential anyway, especially with the gains that can be achieved through mapping a turbo engine. Peter from GSR says over 200bhp should be well in scope for the 1.4 T-jet 150.

That would make for a damn fun car.

But it was Scrogg that said so wasn't it? (he works for em) He said this info was released to the dealer network and 'signed off' for the UK market.

If you read the comment by scrogg he quotes the dealer was only told yesterday so your friend won't of known. The 1.9multijet is quite an old unit really so maybe it has had an overhaul.
