Hi All,

After my wedding this year, summer, I want to get my hands on a " Fun " bravo, what I mean is GT or something similar.

Looking for recommendations from you guys on what engine/spec to go for, would also need Garage in the Uk to export it Ireland?

Cheers! :)

go for the 2.0 litre 20 valve hgt. and have it remapped. or go for the 1.9 diesal and have that remapped.

or if your really into having the speed go for a hgt and get the 2.0 litre 20 valve turbo engine from a coupe and drop that in it. 250 bhp in a car the size of the bravo now that would be fun.

If i had the cash i would go for a hgt with out a second thought.

Thanks for the info! Is there a 1.6 GT version, is that any good, easier to come by??

i have sold 2 cars to north ireland but none to the south is it not easy to get the cars over there ,if saw i am going to start to bring my cars over see if i can make sum money ha ha do you have the autotrader mag over there

I haven't seen one for sale but I definatly saw one last week!!I know there aren't many round but there must be a few!!I don't want to go looking incase I find one...it'll only upset me!!i won't be able to afford the insurance for a good few years...just turned 18 and have a full licence..and it costs an arm and a leg (literally..as you probably know) for a '01 1.2!!!:bang: (n) :(

Ya i have a one year ncb!!I found it in a car mag..i think it was Car Buyers Guide!I paid €3750...which I thought was pretty good..the same car from Grandons in Glanmire was €5995!!The body had a good few dents but i got them sorted and it has very low mileage 35k!!it was a toss up between a saxo and a bravo but am very glad I got the bravo. Its only a 1.2 but its pretty good for a small engine!! I'm very happy with mine!! What about the new 100hp Panda?or the new Bravo is coming out in march?

at 18 with 1 year NCB i would think a 1.8GT (called 1.8HLX in uk) would be more suitable. you get a great spec and good performance for cheap insurance (only group 8).

you can get a 1.6HLX in the uk too. cheaper insurance for young drivers but you still get the higher spec. and the 1.6 is surprisingly torquey so you can have fun with it. my 1.6 beat a lot of cars that i didnt expect it to. my 1.8 isnt much quicker tbh, you can hardly notice the difference until you get close to top speed.

well the 1.4 isnt worth buying, so that only leaves a 1.2. when you're young a 1.2 can be fun.

maybe a mk2 punto sporting would be a more affordable 'fun' car? the spec is excellent, driving experience is far better than expected, and i still smile every time i drive my girlfriend's. and yes its still a fiat so you have to fix it a lot.

the other good thing about a mk2 sprting is that all it takes ot make them look a lot better is a bit of paint. my GF's is fully colourcoded and look at what a difference it makes.

(well if you can actually see in that dark pic)
