Need some advice - only had my brava 4 weeks and so far new clutch and various headaches. Latest one is very sluggish in low gears and squeling noise as about to change to 2nd or 3rd gear. Nearly have to get out and push when going up hills as probably be faster. Once in higher gears suddenly jumps into life.Any advice what it could be?

Hi sorry not replied sooner - its petrol and 1.6 engine. Just getting worse and worse and making a squeling noise as soon as revs are up before changing gears! Anyone got any ideas cos its doing my head in now??

if you've just had the clutch fitted, and it didnt do it prior to the clutch, i'd take it back to whoever fitted the clutch and try to get them to look at it, suggesting they may have caused the problem. then they should tell you the real problem to make sure you dont blame them, meaning you get a free diagnosis from the garage.

any lights on the instument panel illuminated? such as the injector light (looks like a hose pipe squirting water)

Hi no lights illuminated - car still under warranty but each time theyve done any work end up having to take it back in OR breaking down to loose bolts etc basically shoddy workmanship plus keep the car for about 5 days to do work. Prepared to pay another garage to do the work if its something simple thats why was after any ideas!!

its not a very easy problem to diagnose on the internet. i'd need to see the car to be sure.
a squealing noise is usually a belt that is too tight, and sluggish performance could be timing out. has the timing belt been changed lately?
if so i'd get it chekced to see if the tension is correct and timing is correct. there's no or few timing marks on many fiats so its easy to get wrong when changing the belt.
