hi, having a bit of a problem with the timing of the valves on my 1.6...i heard there is a special tool used to aligning the timing is this true? if so where can i get my hands on one... im based in the west midlands... thanks

there are many "special" tools for timing. it depends what you want.

-you can get flywheel locks to hold the crank in position (i use a screwdriver instead, or stick it in 5th gear with handbrake on and you should be ok)

-you can get tools to get piston1 at TDC (i use the mark on the crank pulley or a metal rod)

-you can get cam locking tools that hold the cams in the correct place. if you've moved the cams and didnt make marks then you'll need these

if you marked the pulleys for the crank and both cams then you dont need any tools. if you didnt make marks before removing the belt, why the hell not?!
