Hi,

I need to replace my mirrors on my punto and replace them with some body coloured ones. The problem being, most replacement mirrors don't fold like the originals.

Is there any decent wing mirrors around? (body sprayable)

If not, do you reckon it'd be easy to sand/spray my originals enough to get away with it?

Cheers!

Yep.

Look at the piccys of the red Cinq at the Manchester meet in the Manc meet thread....I sprayed those and theyre more than passable IMO!!

Wasnt bad at all :)..

Bust basic process is as follows:

Clean and dry the surface to be painted, then progressively smooth the surface down. Start with a coarse grit paper (P120) and work to a medium grit (P600 at most), aiming to remove the scratches created by the last paper when using the next.

Prime them with plastic primer and rub this down with P600 then P800 (or nearest next grade up), then top coat. Rub the first layer down with P1000 grit then P1200 grit and repaint. Rub this layer down with P1200 then P1500Give another layer of paint if you want or else lacquer the parts.

If giving a 3rd coat of paint, rub down with P1500 then lacquer. Refit to the car. Wait the alotted time prior to polishing the painted area.

Yeah...thats the same technique a pro would use on any bodywork!

TBH...I just used paint from my local factors. It matched fine!
