So I recently bought an MK2B Punto and the bonnet has some quite nasty dents in it. I've looked on the web to find solutions but I think it might be harder to fix than just using one of those suction cups.

Is my best bet to get it repaired at a garage, I asked in one place and got a quote of £170 which is for the dent in the pictures and another smaller barely noticeable dent further up. Or Is just buying a second hand bonnet a better option?

There is also what seems to be a bodge job that covers up a big scratch, I don't have a clue what it is or how it's attached. Can anybody recognise what it is and how I can remove it then fix the scratch?

I especially want the big dent removed as I bought a badgeless grill but cant fit it as the dent has forced the bonnet into the grill so im afraid i wont be able to put it into place if I remove the stock one.

Thanks to anybody that can help. I would appreciate it so much as £170 is not something I can afford.

Edit:

That certainly does look like a nasty dent, one way that you would be able to fix it would be to pull it out as far as you can from the back so its a little low to the rest of the bonnet and fill the rest with filler but your best (and probably cheapest) option would to find another bonnet tbh

Another way would be pretty much the same with the filling but cut out that patch and weld a new one in, fill and spray but again, that would be very costly
