An engineer at work is selling his honda alloys which have a Honda centre cap which is about 2" wide in all 4 alloys, im pretty sore these can come out and can be replaced, im just wondering before i buy, would my local fiat dealer or somewhere on the web is there any sort of fiat alloy centre caps i can buy?

cheers

first of all, i thought they just popped out and what does pcd, center bore an offset mean?
Im not uptodate on my jargon

they do just pop out, but different car manufacturers attach wheels to their cars differently... for example Fiat use a 4 stud pattern (4 bolts) whereas others use 5 etc. your PCD is the spacing between them, so Fiats are mainly 98 or 100 (the 2mm difference can be solved with things called wobbly bolts) whereas another manufacturer may have a PCD of 110..

Therefore you can only get alloys that are made for Fiats to fit your fiat. Hope that helps (y)

Just because they don't rub on full lock doesn't mean they are safely fitted, the centre bore will most likely be wrong on them so all the weight of the car will be on the bolts instead of the lip that protrudes from the hub, this is dangerous and it means they could fall off.

Also if the centre bore is wrong they won't be sitting on the hubs dead centre which again is dangerous.

its 100mm for the measurement of where the nuts go and i have a 40mm offset, these measurements are off my new alloys, my centre bore on the steel wheels is 58mm (hard measuring from a tape measure as my metal measuring tool was too bid to fit inside) and the alloy is 62mm (not that accurate again off a tape measure). is there such a thing like a 4mm ring i could get to put onto the alloys to take the strain off the nuts and i would have to get wobbly nuts

I've just looked on Google and it looks like Honda wheels are 4x100mm PCD and the centre bore is 64mm.

FIAT uses a PCD of 4x98mm and a centre bore of 58.1mm, therefore you will need wobbly bolts (aka variable PCD bolts) and a set of 5.9mm spigot rings, any alloy wheel shop should sell these spigot rings.

I think the offset of standard Honda alloy wheels is 38, this should be fine so no spacers should be required. (y)

Hope that helps. :)
