i drive a fiat bravo and have recently got myself an abarth kit for the car. which needs prepping and spraying. i got in touch with an old neighbour who owns a body shop and went down for a quote. the work involved is as follows: -
-dent removal all over (body work has dings and a dentered front wing)
-prepping and spraying kit
-smoothing tailgate
-smoothing all bump strips
-new bonnet (due to vairous dents)
-full respray (metallic paint)

he told me im not looking at much change from £1800

is this a good price. i know that if i get him to do the work then it will be top draw as hes been doing this for over 30years and he showed me some examples of cars he's done (alot of maxpower etc feature cars).

i could spray the kit myself as my mate has a compressor and sprayer but obviously the rest of the car will look worn as it is and the kit wont be done to the same standard.

the kit i got is 2ndhand so it needs fillering and priming as it has a few deep scratches etc.

is this a good price or would i be able to get this work done cheaper?
cheers.

what is the name of the shop and where is he based? 1800 seems about right because a lot of spraying is involved. i would definoutly shop around tho.
im near birmingham
the shop it called 'vidak motor bodies' which is in nuneaton

my concern is that it is alot to spend on a car that i paid 1400 for last year. and i will proberly end up needing to do major mechanical work on it in a year or two because its a fiat on 90k lol

the guy is sending me a quote split up into the seperate jobs and said that what would be best for me is to get the kit done and then every month or two get something done and then get a full respray at the end.
