Just fixed my 4 6x9's to my parcel shelf and there is no bass at all just treble. I've fitted them to the under side of my stealth shelf and I was under the impression that it would give a bassier sound, but it hasn't.;););)

Any ideas whats wrong[?][?][?]

crap standard wiring? I had this in one car (Manta would you believe), ran some new bigger cables in and it was loads better.

All the wiring has been replaced and im running them off the amp.

I think i've solved the problem now, just ordered my sub and new amp, so hopefully it will be all boom boom soon:D:D:D

I never checked if it was running on low-pass filter, I just put it in, casue it was all set up in my previous car.

I will check that today, hopefully it is so I can cancel the order.

Hve you wired the speakers in phase? If you wire the + & - the opposite way round on each speaker they will cancel each other out. One way to check is to put the balance on ur H/U over to one side, if it sounds bassier then, then they're prob wired out of phase.

I checked the amp, and it was on the low-pass filter, so I changed it and it working great:D:D:D

Now my new sub has arrived and i'm just waiting for my new amp to come aswell, now I need to know what do I need to make a box and does the sub need a specific sized box.

I don't want to buy a standard sized box becasue you don't have much room in the boot of a sei, so i'm going to make my own:):):)

Cheers

What type of sub are you buying?
It should come with ideal box measurements that will tell you how much cubic air you need inside the box.

For the box you'll need 16mm MDF, Wood Glue, screws and some silicone sealer to run around all the joins inside the box, oh and some carpet. Also a good idea to buy a speaker terminal plate so you don't have to leave a hole in the box for the speaker wire to run.
Then remember a jigsaw to cut all the wood and maybe a drill for the screws.
Good luck.

I've got a JBL GT-3 10", so it should tell me the right box to fit.

What if it doesn't fit into my car does it really make much difference if u go below the required size[?][?][?]

You'll have plently of room (even in a cinq), if the JBL ideal box design is too long for the cinq, then make yours wider or taller, etc.
The actual dimensions of the box don't matter so much as long you get the correct amount of air inside the box.
Your JBL instructions will proberbly tell you you'll need something like 1.4cubic feet of air inside the box, so with a bit of maths, you can work out the dimension of the box you need to build and can get away with inside your boot.
If the box is way too small or way large it will adversly affect the sound, but a little bit out won't make a big difference.

gaz good news
http://www.autoacoustics.com/

they sell stealth sub boxes to go over the nearside and offside arches of a sei. there damn expensive, but well made, and look the dogs ******. I will be fitting one either side in the summer when funds are better.
they even cut the hole to fit your sub, you have to tell them the model of it etc.

hope this helps
