I have just purchased a pair of gas struts for my Barchetta. They were purchased from tailgatestruts.com part no GSC 1280.They are listed as boot struts but they are for the hood.Alongside their pt no is the Fiat pt no's.The cost is £12.99+vat per strut + postage.I did inform them of their mistake on the website.Hope this helps.

thanks for link (y) but £30 for postage (n)

£30 is too much. When mine arrive I will weigh the package. It may be possible to send a set to you by airmail, small package. I could sort this for you if it's practicable. Steve

thanks Steve, i will let you know. i asked in local fiat dealer for originals (http://www.stabilus.com/)... about £130 pair   could you also check pressure? i think it's 250N... mine originals are all worn out, so i cannot read any number from it.

but, i will first check on other shops... they should be same size and pressure as originals and should work. i will let you know, thanks. (y)

Hi Mate. Mine arrived neatly packed in a cardboard tube. Total weight 400g. Should be around £4 for airmail. This is less than the £5.80 I paid. So total postage to you, around £10. PM me if I can help. Steve

Hello all, :)

Just spoke with a gentleman from Tailgatestruts.com who was most helpful,
as i was curious to the pressure of the struts.

and asked if they were 250nm like the german suppliers..

I was told that they are either 130 or 170nm as are the standard fiat struts but if you ask them can be filled to have as much pressure as you want and that 200nm would be ideal for that extra lift.

This is at no extra cost so i will be ordering my pair today.. :D

HOPE THIS HELPS !!!
