Hi all..Ive just converted my headlights to dip the opposite way by stripping down and refitting the metal plate back to front ..Easy job ..But it was the early style black headlight housing ..Now my friend wants me to do his later car , its got the silver housings . Did i read on here they could not be stripped down and converted ? , are they a slightly different design or is it just the housings a different colour and the lights are the same .

I believe that they are exactly the same, the housing colour is the only difference - willing to be proved wrong but this is my understanding! :)

Hi all

Little B just failed her MOT  apparently the offside headlight is mainland spec and not UK, Im confused  my car has never failed an MOT on this before and the lights have been there for 2 years. Anyhow the reason for this post is to ask if anyone has a detailed guide on how to convert the light without spending £540 on a new one. The thread Ive just read below does mention stripping down a metal plate and refitting, has anyone got the method for this in any detail please?

Many thanks as always :slayer:

Daniel

I assume to respond to a two and a half year old thread would need use of the search facility. gravetye also mentions having seen a thread about it but not being sure what's involved so that seems, and sounds, a little harsh. This thread actually came up first in my search.

Still, Lexo, as such a regular and consistent contributor to the forum you must get fed up with seeing this kind of thing.

Oh......

But, thanks for pointing him to the useful French instructions.

I see these kind of posts more and more (also on other forums), expecting detailed answers from other members but not taking the time or effort to invest some time themselves using the search function.

I know I'm not a regular poster here, but I use the search and by doing so I find the info I want, but if you prefer, I can make a new post for al my info-requests, nice way to fill up the forum...

I don't want to be offensive, but somethimes I get to annoyed by this "lack" of effort..

we need to create some webpage where we will upload all tutorials, "how to", suggestions, list of barchetta parts with numbers... so all could be found by few mouse clicks.
