i have just found an orange b on ebay 99 model i like it!! how much would be a good price on it?

might be a cheaper option than spraying mine orange any thing i should be asking the seller?

I'm sure a link would help LRB point out to you that it's not red...er...what to look for etc.

not good with links but its the only orange one on ebay so should narrow it down.will get my son to put up link tomorrow to make life easy

Just had a quick look at eBay and it appears quite clean - nick on the bonnet looks like it has rusted but might only be cosmetic - front bumper damage is difficult to tell how bad it is, could need a new bumper but you might find a bodyshop that could do something with it.

For my tuppence-worth these are the usual bits to look for (I would always view a car before buying - I bought mine from eBay);

- Full service history (including CAM belt changes and variator) – if it has patchy service history you could be looking at expensive repairs - for a car with 59k on it the CAM and Variator should have been changed.
- Tractor noise on startup – means that the Variator needs changing
- Seatbelts – check the mounts where the belts meet the mounting points – early ones become frayed and need replacing
- Check the floor pan thoroughly – the points where panels meet and jacking points can rust
- Body panels should not suffer from rust as they are fully galvanised, that said common places to find rust are on the wheel arches, where panels join and around the front lights, also check the inner wings under the bonnet and the battery tray mounting bracket
- Check the operation of the windows – water ingress in the motors can cause issues
- Check the hood and the hood rubbers closely, make sure that when the hood is up they all meet the windows and are not crumbling – hood and hood rubbers are expensive to replace! - I know the advert claims that the roof has been replaced but still make sure it fits well
- Jack the rear wheels off the ground and give them a good wobble – if there is movement its likely the ‘sway’ bushes need replacing
- Check all of the panels align – sounds obvious but if they don’t its likely to have been in a smack
- Have a close look at the leather, it can crack around the piping.
- Check the exhaust, although the ad says it has a sports exhaust you could call the FIAT exhaust a sports exhaust! If it is the original exhaust check it carefully, they are heavy and crack

I have to say that from the ad it looks quite good, depending on how good it is in the flesh I would expect to pay between 3-4k-ish.

I would contact the seller and ask what its up for on the other 'media', you will get an idea of what he's looking for then. Bicester is only about 50 mins from me, if you are serious and cover my petrol I don't mind going and having a look for you but can only do Monday as I have a busy week next week!

Oh, don't even think about re-spraying the Blue one, it will never be right unless the car is totally stripped down for spraying!

Go and see it. Take it for a test drive. I think if you like it and can get it for less that £3500 you are doing very well.

I secretly wish mine was orange too. Only reason it isn't (aside from seeing a very pretty red one in Italy) is because most lots of my clothes are orange and I thought I might end up seeming a bit of a freak with orange jumper trousers coat car scarf hat etc:devil:

Seriously do pay a visit to the car before you think about bidding. Adverts are usually honest, but with these things there are degrees of honesty.

Difficult to say without knowing the details of it...........?

Take a look at autotrader.com - it is a good way of gauging what they are selling for, mind you there are a couple of overpriced ones on there that have been there for over a year!

That orange b looks pretty clean. I am almost tempted myself! And it has air-con. Could be a bargain but all of what's said above is good advice

Depending on the condition I would say you could get up to 3.5k, realistically probably closer to 3k but all depends on who turns up to look at your car!

Nice yellow one on eBay as well for 2,699.............

Its easy to make a Barchetta look good in pics, its only when you start to look close up that it starts to show all the parts that need replacing.

Hood Rubbers, Hood, seatbelts, rusty bolts, broken exhausts, broken trim, cracked bumpers.

Check it all as parts cost ££££££££

Agree with all that's been said, you have a couple of choices really 1. Keep what you have and spend the money to fix yours as you want it, better the devil you know n all that. 2. View the Orange one (you would be daft not to) and see if that needs more work than your own and compare what your's needs to what the Orange one needs 3. Buy a damaged repairable that's mechanically sound and has everything within the interior etc that you want and build from the ground up......

had email back he now added pic of rear bumper,but he seem to be avoiding showing the whole rear of the b.
dtr done the var+cam at 36000 miles and fitted the exhaust that's not going to be as good as mine as i don't like them noisy ones. had mine tailor made.
most strange he didn't say where else it is advertised nor give me price he is after not impressed by that.

Hmmmm, difficult to say, there is defo a mark on it though.

Don't be too put off by the way the seller communicates, I almost walked away from mine 'cos I found the sellers eMail's a bit curt - when I met the chap he was a bit of an 'etard' and a man of few words! He would not discuss money until I saw the car and also insisted on me viewing the car as he pointed out that his idea of immaculate might not be the same as mine!

rang them last had it in 2000 done service new hood instrument cluster and window mechanism.quite a bit of work !!!!

Re the bumper, looks straight as such and as if someone had ran their hand accross the dust, but as LRB say's it's def got a mark.

I also looked at that carulli.com when I saw the rear of the car. Is it maybe just the garage in Italy where the car was first sold, something like that?
