General One less "Porsche" on the road

Make a list of everyone that wished you a happy new year and try to find that god damned one!!

Sorry to hear this dude.. the bright side is that you are ok and you can now get a car that needs much less attention :)

Tragic irony, I might get some parts off you ...

Thanks. Both me and the passenger are OK - even if the airbags obviously didn't go off  Heavy sleet and rain led to som nice aqua planing and spinning the car 4-5 times doing approx. 90-100km/h before dicthing it and hitting some light railing.

But luckily, I'm ok - even if I'm quite a lot poorer....

Actually, my brother just looked at it and he said that it might be possible to fix it, provided it is still drivable. My left backwheel has punctured and the exhaust's fallen out of its rubber "hoops" (wossitcalled ) - and if I fix those two things and see that it's drivable I can probably fix it for £2000-3000  Obviously my insurance doesn't cover anything as I have a crap cheapish one...:bang:

I'll post some better pix of it soonish.

Robot - bad news, I am REALLY sorry to hear about it - good to hear that you are OK though - sounds like you need an afternoon in the pub!.......

It does not look too bad from the photo's, do you think there is any structural damage?

I hope that you can get it back on the road, if not we will all circle like vultures for parts!! (every b owner ALWAYS needs parts!!).............

sorry for you, but you live to tell, and thats important.(y)

from the pics, it looks as if you can get away with new front and rear "bumper" and a passengers door (+ paint of course)

that is, if the frame/chassis and drivetrain isn't nicked/bend. Since you went through a flat-spin wihtout hitting any really solid at high speed, the damage might actually not be that bad. Rather "cosmetic" and if you don't use an official-FIAT-replacement-parts-dealer you might be able to keep the costs in check
best get an independent expert/mechanic advise on it...

.. otherwise, we'll have to hire the help of the B-Team (Doc, SS, LRBBarracus,...) :p

I'll repeat it mate - thankfully you're safe and sound, that's the important thing :)

I remember what you said in another thread what you paid for your B over there though. If you do come to replace it, definitely get yourself over here for a little holiday and buy one from the British second-hand market. By the sounds of it you'll save a few quid.

Good luck with getting it fixed up if it's possible.

LRBBaracus!! haha quality :D

Come on Robot!! you gave me a scare and made me feel sorry for you and your B!!!
The car is SOOOOOOOOO fixable man! 700 Euros for 2 bumpers if they are cracked. Otherwise they might be fixed too. Another 1000 Euros and you are just the way you were! Feel lucky the airbags did not open, would cost much more! Then again its not strange for two reasons 1) its a FIAT 2) The crash was not that hard.

Dont go to the pub today to drink, but go to collect some glasses as a part time job! You ll need the money ;)

Be happy man, you are fine and able to fix everything:slayer:

I might have overreacted - I made my initial post an hour or two after the accident - so it isn't totalled, but quite mauled. Especially the back.

Check the pics and give me your opinion guys ;)

Robot, I don't think she's too bad considering the speed/conditions you crashed in.

I think you are looking at a fair amount of effort to fix but I think it will boil down to cold hard cash - how much are you prepared to spend to get her back to her former glory?

If all else fails SS is selling his, I am sure he would take an offer around £4.5-ish (maybe less if you play the sympathy vote)........question is could you drive a YELLOW b?????

Seriously fella, cover her over and feel sorry for yourself in the pub over a pint, tomorrow is another day - go out there with a clear head and start pricing up the parts, don't make any decisions today!
