Hi everyone,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a 2-hand (good condition) or low-priced new SUMP for my B?

Just out of interest does the old Punto share the same engine/SUMP part as a 97 Barchetta.

Sump is the same as the punto HGT

This chap (Peter Bridgefoot) was breaking a couple of B's a few weeks back, a couple of us had bits off him and they were reasonably priced, well packed and shipped quickly....

Failing him this company are always advertising B parts on eBay......

FYI called up a FIAT dealer and the want £ 192 not inc VAT for the SUMP and all the bits and bobs!

Have you tried doogal? He has been breaking a B for a while now, not sure if he still has the sump - drop him a PM and ask...........

Doug was looking to sell the engine complete as engine was sound, been awhile since we had any parts off him though.

Many thanks confirming this, as we have now located a Punto HGT sump. Can you confirm that there's no problem removing it from a Punto, as the seller wants us to remove it if it's going to be awkward.

Exhaust downpipe is in the way so that has to come off first.

You said Punto HGT, but I've found one from a Bravo HGT 1998cc, can you let me know whether it's the same sump?

Nope, different engine, the Bravo has an additional cylinder........

Many thanks, ordered a sump from JustPuntos for £60 in P&P, a little more than I was hoping but not outrageously expensive.

NP, good luck with fitting it!!

Any fiat 1.8 engines sump will fit, bravo, stilo etc. Possibly even an alfa twin spark sump as the bottom end is the same.

JustPuntos decided to sell their only sump to someone else, even though I'd already paid, so I'm still looking.

Does anyone know the part number?

A big thanks to Dan, the Little Boat now has an Alfa Twin Spark sump, and the engine is running perfectly again without leaks. It is not identical to the Fiat sump, but more later when Stratis posts some photos.

It's worth bearing in mind that Twin Sparks are not exactly rare, whereas Punto HGTs and Bs are rather less common.

Great big thank you Dan & Paul for your input and efforts!!!!!! Will try and post some pics tonight or tomorrow!

Now to have a go in it after 5 weeks with its feet up!

No problem, I was 99% sure but obviously did'nt want you to waste your money if I was wrong.
