Trouble with this car at the moment is it doesn't know what it is. It's a project as it's not running, that is for sure. It's going to require some proper rolling-road time to get anywhere near 120BHP and probably to just make it go along. It's a road car without a heater, cold start mechanism and a gammy seat. So is it a racing car? It's not gonna be quick enough or stiff enough for that. Maybe with the grilles in the bonnet and all the Fast and the Furious stuff inside it's a modified car? Not sure there is any taste in the mods though.

Certainly a bit of fun and saves a bit of work sourcing and fitting the superb 1.4 16v engine, but I think it would stay in the garage over winter cause you just wouldn't use it.

Hope someone from here buys it and give it an identity and makes it run right.

He originally turbo-charged a 1242 16v. That made holes in the pistons quicker than he could post the results on the forum, so he got a 1.4 for more reliable power and put the 1242 manifold and electronics on it. He had problems with cold running and missing, but then claimed the car had 120BHP. It was sold at this stage with the problems. The current owner obviously thought he would solve the fueling issue with bike carbs, but has lost interest.

Notice this has dropped in price. A £500 offer perhaps? Think it is worth that for someone wishing to start a 1.4 project considering the engine, custom driveshafts, recently bought coils and it's not a bad shell at all.

remember some times ago I was thinking about that Red Panda as it was close to me...but biding finished at about 800...so...gone

Erm the 1.4 16v engine wasn't used until 2004.....

Just thought I'd be pedantic.
