Going North on the A9...
Alright team,

a pal of mine has had the release lever on the drivers' seat go slack and no longer operate the release of the backrest, to move the seat forwards.

Is this a classic foxes-paw, of the Abarth Evo seats?

Is there a magic trick to resolve the issue; or a thread I'm missing?

Thankyou for your help, in advance.

Going from when I took the seats out of my 3 door evo, there is a cable that goes down to the base of the seat which releases a catch allowing the seat too tip forward there is then a second cable that goes to the base releasing a catch that lets the seat slide forward once its been folded forwards.

My guess is the cable has stretched, snapped or become detached some how.

you will need to take the seat out. I'm not sure if the seat backs on the Abarth are the solid plastic type you get on some other Abarths, but you'll need to get the back of the seat back off, to be able to access the cables and be very careful of the airbags.

If the cable has snapped then I wonder if something could be fashioned from a push bike brake or gear cable as I dread to think how much a genuine fiat part would be to fix this.
