Afternoon!

thought id share my car in its own thread. Had the car 2 years now and loved every second. People always ask what it is. Passers by always have a good old glare. And guys in there big grey German saloons also seem to look a bit jealous when in traffic.

Part of the appeal of having a genuinely exclusive car.

I have done a few mods to it, here is the list:

-200 cell sports cat
-full turbo back stainless steel exhaust
-Forge front mount intercooler
-Revised esseesse air intake pipe
-Pipercross panel filter
-Custom remap by RS tuning in Leeds
-Powerflex gearbox mount
-Forge subframe braces
-Upgrded gearbox bearings

The old girl is producing close to 190bhp. Not going to take it any further as im more than happy with how it drives. appearance wise, i don't want to change anything. think its a good looking car as it is.

Anyway. Here are a few Pictures:

Personally im not a fan of the stripes. I do like the red on the AGP as all the blacks and reds work well and look coordinated.

Maybe these pictures will make your mind up? (y)

Also ive just recieved my package of H&R lowering springs.....ive always thought that the car looks a little on the high side, especially on the rear. So i will be having them installed next week hopefully.

Also looking at this.....http://www.knfilters.co.uk/search/product.aspx?prod=57s-3300.....anybody used one and can give me their thoughts.

cheers

Lovely car mate! How does the near enough 190bhp feel? I only ask as I have the GP t-jet with basically all of the same performance mods as you've got: Esseesse induction, decat, 2.5" custom exhaust, upgraded custom intercooler (very similar to Forge) and I've upgraded to the vl36 turbo. Essentially a Fiat version of your lovely Abarth, but without the exclusivity haha (jealous!).

I have my remap coming up at the end of this month and I should theoretically see similar figures to yours as the engine/setup is near enough identical. I'll be happy with 180bhp but I'm just wondering what your actual figure was and if you've got a printout, just to give me an idea of what mine could look like.

I've also just recently installed 16mm spacers all round if you're interested (see pic) however I don't have the Abarth arches of course but I'm sure they'd suit yours well!

Hi Mate

Just looked, ive had the graph loaded on here all this time ha. that figure is before the revised intake and non vpower, hence id like to think it was closer to 190hp now, but who knows.

He said it could do more but the map is very safe, so im happy with that. yours will probably make more tbh, im tempted to go elsewhere see if i can get a bit more out of it.

The wheels look good mate. ill have to wait till its lowered, see how much space ive got to work with between the wheel and the arch trim.

cheers

Morning

Small update, recently the car has had a slight misfire under half throttle low revs. Really annoying. So I changed all the plugs, still same, all coils, still same.

So this morning I changed the pre cat O2 sensor....I'll be off for a drive in a bit, the old one had a light brown deposit on it, is that normal?

Also heat wrapped the intercooler to throttle body pipe, as it runs right next to the exhaust down pipe, so hope this will prevent heat soak into the pipe, resulting in colder air going into the intake...time will tell.

And last but not least, changed the wing mirrors to black, think it looks the mutts!

Hi.

Well still have the missfire/flatspot at half throttle low rpm.....ive changed the plugs, all 4 coils, o2 sensor, run some injector cleaner through it. my last thought could be a vacuum leak? boost leak? after the maf im guessing

Does anybody know where the most common hose leaks are?

any other ideas would be appreciated, really bugging me now.

oh and is the hose that runs from the black box on the rocker cover to the air intake meant to be very loose? as in can just pull it off? i imagine not

Cheers

About the hose, no it's not but this is not your problem.

If you have a stable idle I don't believe there is a vacuum leak.
Ofcourse the right way is to check your fuel trims from multiecuscan.

What about full throttle from low rpm? no missfire/flatspot?
Are you sure it's a missfire? No check engine?

Hi mate

the idle is a bit lumpy also, forgot to add that, can feel it through the clutch quite a bit. Not sure what it is, full throttle is fine from low rpm, its just when on half throttle, maybe around 1700rpm just before the boost kicks in. also seems to get worse with a warm engine.... going to have a good look at all the hoses this week

no check engine light no

Could be a vacuum leak then.

Maybe a bad MAP/air temp?
Can you inspect these values?

Can't believe you've copied my cars design. It's no longer original... ?
Car looks awesome, and I still think I need to get rid of my stripes and copy you ?

Good afternoon people.

Just a quick update, been looking for things to do to the car. I heard that adding the esseesse sensors to the standard abarth made a hell of a difference to how well it holds boost.

So after purchasing all 3 sensors, map on intake manifold, the map on black pipe to the right of engine and the solenoid that clips into the radiator near the turbo I finally fitted them........

WOW!!! Boost is something else now! Real kick in the back, especially in sport mode! Would recommend it to people who have a remap.

Also had 2 new tyres on the front, Dunlop sport maxx xl rt's seem very good so far.

And recently switched from v power to bp ultimate after always being an avid v power user, and the car seems to run much nicer with it...but with these new sensors a tank of v power may be on the cards to see how she goes.

Have a good weekend

Wow, wonder if they would make a difference without a remap?
Can I ask where you got the sensors from?

I've heard it works on standard t jets too, but think they have been mapped also, you need to get it mapped mate ?? erm solenoid from fiat, and the other 2 off amazon, if you want part numbers just let me know

Hi Steve. How hard was the gearbox mount to fit, and did you notice a difference after fitting it?
