Sorry if it's been talked about already. There was a similar thread in 2017 but couldn't find my answer.
I can't seem to find where to deactivate the front airbag! I know the button on the front panel is a dummy and just showing it's on.

You can only deactivate the front passenger airbag.

To do this you need to use the vehicle key and operated the key switch in the glove box or on the side of the dash/glove box.

May be the newer models have a key in the glove box to turn passenger airbag on or off but my 2016 500x doesn't and it is controlled in the menu system on the Uconnect. I have the 7 inch screen and perhaps that is a difference also.
