It is free but I don't bother using it (mainly due to the exhorbitant price Fiat charge for map updates). If real time traffic alerts are important to you then it's probably worth it as it's free, but I couldn't find much of use in it to me so I binned it

Our 65 Plate was originally an ex-Europcar. As such the UConnect services had not been enabled. You can contact Fiat and they can request services to be opened with your reg/chassis. I did this but tbh the system is a bit rubbish. I honestly have not bothered using anything on it. App phone services are far better. Post 2018 cars with the improved bigger screen are much better. Our rental new 500X was had last year in Italy - the Nav system opened from your phone via Apple Carplay was miles better and so much smoother than the standard built in system for example.
