Snooper / car park surveillance / etc. just watches the keypad sequence, has your reg and bingo tomorrow morning your "ride" is gone.

all keyless cars are vulnerable to the retransmission hack that has been around for years.

sometimes the thief won't even bother with tricks, they'll just use a lorry to pick the whole car and move it in a container.

other times they just barge right in with a gun and "politely" ask for the keys...

the point I'm trying to make, is that you should live your life without being constantly afraid that something bad will happen, because living life in fear means that "they" have won, plus you end up holed in your house of the rest of your life, which is no life at all. so drive and enjoy

I've always thought the Push Button Starter on the 500X looks like a bit of an afterthought. The hole in the steering column still looks like it was planned to have an ignition barrel in it until they just filled it with a starter.

Agree. Life is too short and nothing is secure. Just remember to shield your pin as you punch it in which so many people do not do.

I think the same, looks poorly designed and the 2 parts surrounding it fit together horribly, expect it was located there to minimise cost. Maybe the best place to locate it would be one of the lozenge buttons on the dashboard where the hazard warning lights are, but to be fair all those 3 buttons should be there, useful location.

Yep looks totally like it was designed to have a key barrel in it right up to the last minute when they realised keyless was the norm in many a modern car nowadays so needed to compete.

It's the one up the top near the main interior lights that makes me turn them off. I can see it out the corner of my eye and it bugs me!
