Have a problem where I cannot set the clock, I go into options to set clock where the whole thing hangs for 3 or 4 mins. Have also noticed the that the steering wheel voice command button is naff also

Is this a quick fix or back to the dealer job.

Thanks for reading

Ian

I'm sure the clock shouldn't hang and what do you mean by naff?

My speech commands work, but they are more effort than just doing it myself as I must talk Mandarin Chinese.

Setting the clock is straight forward and really simple, I always keep ignition turned on when changing settings because sometimes certain menus don’t show. Voice controls are really just a gimmick and I never bother with them.

One of the few things that worked really well on my 'infotainment' system was changing the time. Just tap the time itself and it asks whether you want to update it.

I mean that's great - if you want to overlook the constant beeping from the uConnect Live speed camera warnings, the fact that it plays whatever recording was last played when you plug in the USB (whether that be a call recording, Mr Bean on Netflix, or that late night dalliance on an adult video website), or the fact that I can drive out of my road before the radio starts up!

In case you can't tell - I am getting that true FIAT love/hate thing now!

Hehe - the radio!!! My Qubo starts to talk/play/sing almost before I've touched the button but I have (like you say) nearly got to the end of the road before this 500X one wakes up..

Is the bonging (2 bongs) a warning of a speed/traffic camera? There's nothing to say why you're being warned or what of but it does it randomly anyway. I've already reverted to my Fiaty TomTom as it talks over the radio rather than the oh-so-annoying built in one that says "Please" a whole lot too much and "Make a hard (half?) turn in 1000 feet" (WTF????) interrupting the radio in the most important bits whilst she bleats on about nothing important.
(I bought a Nite Ize air vent mount for the sat nav)

What's the backwards-Commodore emblem on the top title bar for? It alters colour occasionally.. a mood indicator?

The uConnect constantly double bleeping (not really a bong) can often sound like a heart monitor. Some stretches of road round here make it go off 20, 30, even 40 times. Extremely irritating to the point I found myself shouting at the thing. The only bit I liked about uConnect Live was the information about the car. The 'apps' were all feckless and beyond slow - changing songs on the Deezer app for example... you may be lucky enough to get the next song come up before the current one finishes. That being said, I am convinced that the sound quality was better using the Live services. Maybe a placebo type effect though. Overall, I don't really miss having the Live services.

Not really sure why you see a commodore emblem, unless one of the other profiles for the 'infotainment' is enabled. I found profiles for Chrysler and all sorts in the settings for mine. The standard FIAT one looks like a smiley face. It's to show how economically you're driving; have a dig around the menus and you'll get scores for things like speed, acceleration, braking, etc. A rich, lush green symbol is a good score. Red (which I have only got to appear twice in my 6 months of ownership) means bucket loads of fuel are being consumed!

With regard to the sat nav itself, I actually find mine to be pretty good. I have the 6.5in version. It's accurate with its directions, if pretty out of date (you really notice the war on motorists when you see how many speed limits have been reduced). I believe you get three free updates at the dealer, so when I take mine in for a couple of issues, I may ask for it.

The emblem at the top that changes colour is an indication of how economically (or not) you're driving. It appeared with version 16 point something of the software

I too was unable to set the date and time on my 2017 Fiat 500 Pop. The menu option for setting the date and time was not active; I could not select it on the UConnect touchscreen. Other menu options were also inactive.

twobigdogs' response solved the problem -- thank you!

The owner's manual neglects to specify that important instruction.

Is there such a thing as 'keep(ing) the ignition turned on' in a keyless car (with the engine off) ? I haven't found how yet, if there is...

Press the start stop button without putting your foot on the clutch.

Hehe- it's a slush box! I guess I press/hold the brake (with the dead engine sound) and then tinker away? My Qubo actually turns back on after about a minute of silence on the rare mistaken occasion I've left the SS active.. Thanks though.

No need to touch or press anything other than the start stop button. I.e. the button on the steering column. Get in, press only that button, et voilà. Ignition on.

Does that mean, no brake = ign on (only) when pressing Start?

I don't think I've seen this in the manual but then, they assume you want to get in then drive away..

Thanks - I'll try tomorrow.

My car is not keyless. To keep ignition on in a keyless car only press start button without pressing clutch or if auto without pressing brake.
