I know there's never a good time for these things to happen, but a clutch is a consumable service item and it sounds like it's had a good innings
Hopefully there's no damage to the gearbox internals as a result.
I would argue the input shaft bearing could almost be considered a service item on these gearboxes. If your car is high mileage I would be surprised if there isn't some play in it (mine packed up around 100k miles, apparently not untypical).
