Smile 500c boot light

The 500c boot may not be big, but big enough not to find stuff because it is not particularly well lit.
Probably even worse than the hatchback because that would get more light from above or the front when the hatch is open.

OK, first step was to replace the dim bulb in the boot light with an LED.
Helped a bit, but it was still a fairly dark hole.

Then I invested in a LED light bar (~50cm) from overseas.
Took a while to arrive, but in turn it did not cost much (3€ for a pair).
One is enough, though.

A bit longer cable and a T10 adapter at the end was added and then fit nicely in the recess at the very front of the cover.
The plastic top cover that folds around the front edge (see red circle) clamps it in place with the nose in the centre,
so it did not even need further fixing. Nevertheless, I added 2 velcro pads to to both end covers to avoid them flapping in case of bumps.
All nicely removable without a trace.

Re: 500c boot light

I used 2x42 LED panels really bright 1 each side.

Re: 500c boot light

My Stilo (boot big enough for a whole 500) only has a single tiny 5W bulb on the wheel arch.. I've got an old LED head torch (strap came off) in the boot... but a bit of LED light strip sounds like a much better idea.

Nice one!
