After owning a plethora of older fiats and having had a couple of years autotesting in my most fun fiat ever - the seicento sporting - ive just bought a 2010 500 1400 16v with a few extras , the red leather is stunning.
Dont suppose for a minute ill be competing in it but looking forward to fun

Congratulations. It was the combination of the red leather and ivory accents that sold me the car!

Just Joined.
Had my 500c since new 2010 here is a list of issues I have had.
2010 wash jets keep coming out replace 3 times by dealer put a bit of glue on the end myself in the end no problem since.
2010 loud rattle under bonnet the the screw that holds hose on the air box the plastic bit had broken the it fixes to the slam panel.
2010 the thermostat housing broke the plastic hose tail part that goes to the heater.
2011 first service found the the bottom near side wish bone was replace.
2011 the cable that releases the boot had been worn through dealer fix was to strip the wire and tape it up tried to get them to replace it was told it is wear and tear and replacement of this not covered by warranty.
2011 the off side door handle broke.
2012 cable to the boot need fixing again
2012 the strut top off side was rusted away this was replaced (I now have a shower cap over them to stop them holding water)
2013 first MOT nearside wish bone needed replacing
2014 MOT offside wish bone needed replacing
2015 the main bearing race in the gearbox broke. Replaced Gearbox
2015 Thermostat housing broke the plastic hose tail again (replaced with a pattern part cheaper than fiats but it has a metal tail that will not break off).
I still think its a great small car

im sure its all part of the fun, owning a car you really want and love to drive.
some of the best cars ive owned and have given me the most fun are minis(real ones not BMW) yet the repairs list would be 10 times longer than youve had for the 500c
IMHO if you want reliable get a dull as dishwater golf 1.4 but if you want fun and have plenty to talk about with like minded folk, youve already got the right car.
