Given the take take take mentality of a number of forum members, particularly newbies, who also seem unable to spot the 'Thanks' button and a few others who belittle people's attempts to be helpful, it wouldn't take much for me to log off for good either at the moment.

Certainly not the place it was a few years ago on here, and it's going down hill almost as quick as Fiats Customer Service.

Its not just this Forum mate. The one I currently go on is much the same. Its got some members who have been on there along time and are so helpfull, but you then get the muppets who come on because they have a problem. You help them out and they cant even be bothered to reply with thanks. I just dont bother with forums much anymore.

I could find Maxi abrasive at times, but as I said, I respected his forthright opinions.

And he has a lot of knowledge which he willingly shares.

So yes, I miss him. And RobinPJ with his subtle humour.

And I agree with all comments re noobs who post on here for help yet can't seem to remember a simple thank you.

This forum has died in large part because moderators have intervened when there has been a good old bitchfest going on.
I appreciate members taking on the responsibility of moderating, since it demands time and effort, so I won't complain, but a vibrant forum needs to allow a robust exchange of opinions.

I couldn't agree more. Nothing wrong with a good bitchfest once in a while as long as it stays civil. There are a lot of strong charectered people on here, which isn't a bad thing as it gets things seen from a lot of different points of view and angles, as which strong characters comes the odd squabble. The important thing is to always remember to never take it to heart as a personal attack

We had some differences, Maxi told us to step back. You are spot on that its not the place it was a few years back. I think the Like/Dislike buttons need to be removed.

The FF was dynamic and alive, yes what happened to RobinPJ, he used to crack me up with his stories, remember the car sale story where he called their bluff.

btw: I am only getting everyone back together for selfish reasons so I can have a good laugh and free knowledge, only kidding guys its lovely to meet such varied people who actually give a damn.

Moderators, could you please sort out your differences, the momentum of FF database means it will always be here, people will not.

Yes I have definitely seen him post.

Last two pages totally OT and should be deleted IMO (along with this post). Surely there is a topic somewhere to discuss this sort of stuff. If someone wants to have a dummy spit and take a sabbatical fill your boots. I have been enjoying the improved signal to noise ratio in the past month or so.
