We are now sitting in the local cafe having had the moving in time pushed back yet again.

The experience so far has been much like buying a used Fiat from a main dealer. It's overpriced, they tried to up the price still further the day we signed the contract, delivery keeps being postponed & I'll bet it's filthy inside.

What's the betting we only get one key?

What are the electrics like?

Will the front door knob come off in your hand?

And I bet the chimney stack is rotten....

But they've left it in a much better state than we feared.

So it's got a few stone chips, it's been through a set of dampers and now it's got better plugs in it?

We bought a house once and when we got inside there wasn't a single light bulb or curtain rail left in. We found out much later from neighbours that the previous owner had taken all the rails down and broken them up. And we had paid the full asking price as well (at the height of the property boom we had no choice).
Some people's minds work in a strange way don't they?
