Noticed a problem with the passenger side of the central air vent.

Basically, you can adjust up & down but the slats only move one way then close on the side to side direction. You have to poke a key in to re-open them(n)

Drivers side one is perfect. Any suggestions please before I have a poke around tomorrow:confused:

Cheers,

Well. Took the car into the dealer to get the vent replaced & the bonkers blue & me updated.

Didn't go too well:cry: Gouged facia panel below the radio which the tech initially said was there before(n)

Agreed to fix using a trim guy next Thursday. As its a satin titanium colour (not body colour on the TA+), I'm really worried about the colour match:rolleyes:

Also, just been out in it & noticed a mark on the new vent assembly.

All in all, pretty gutted that my less than 4 week old car is battle scarred already:eek:

Thats Fiat dealers for you..they mess stuff up and then try and tell you that it was like that.
Whats the betting that it comes back with the dash fixed but has a dent on the car somewhere.

Good luck

I'm really sorry to hear this. You must be well peeved (as my son would say...).

Dare I ask which dealer's responsible -- if that's the right word... -- for doing this (as you're pretty local to me, I think...)?

Just found this thread. Aargh... -- I was so happy with Grays (where my Panda's coming from...); and have been praising them to the skies... :bang:

I really hope they sort this for you... -- and properly... Ahhhh

Yes, it was Grays. They are usually spot on. I was asked if I knew there was a scratch. There is the tiniest make by the hazard light switch so I assumed they meant that. Then, seeing that, I was gutted.

These things happen unfortunately. They'll put it right I'm sure, either via a smart repair or by replacing the panel.

I'll need to tell them about the mark on the new vent assembly. Kind of wish I hadn't bothered now:(

Oh, I gave them 10's across the board in the follow up survey so I trust this is a blip that'll be rectified:eek:

Car goes in tomorrow evening for the repair on Thurdsay.

They've ordered another replacement vent so that's sorted but I'm worried about potential colour match of the smart repair on the non-body coloured dash panel:eek:

Genuinely wish I'd just put up with the broken vent or read up on doing the job right first time myself:rolleyes:

I wouldn't worry about the colour match on the dash panel, there's nothing else inside to match it to.
I would have thought a new panel factory painted will be fitted.
If they do touch it up you can always reject it if you can see what they've done.

I had teething problems with my car similar to you with them denting it whilst in the dealers care. It all turned out good in the end.
Keep the faith brother :slayer:

Got the 500 back:) New dash panel, vent & cleaned inside & out.

But, and it's a BIG but, dried with a flexi blade so nice scratch on the door & back panel on the passesnger side.

Valeter gone home so service chap tried some AG compound on a rag without success.

I got home & broke out my products. A combination of T Cut safe cut coloured scratch remover, Radiant Wax, PB's Black Hole & some wax means the rear panel one has completely gone & the door one is about 95% better.

Need my DA back off my pal to sort it properly.....or take it back in to get their Valeter to have a go.

or take it back in to get their Valeter to have a go.

Tempting.... But (a) they should have spotted this themselves, and rectified it; (b) if you do, you're going to have to spend more of your time watching them like a hawk; and (c) if you know you'll do a proper job yourself, just let them know how badly you feel let down (and ask them never to touch the bodywork ever again...). (n)

Did you take any photos of the damage? If so, show them as part of your complaint, and see what they offer by way of apology/compensation....

I would argue they shouldn't have made the damage in the first place, and underlines why I insist my car is absolutely spotless before I take it in for a service, and insist that they don't wash/clean/damage it.

It angers me to think that supposed professionals use such bad practices such as using a hydra blade to 'dry' a car. I'd much rather they leave the damn thing alone than f*** up the paintwork on someone's vehicle..
