General Had an accident!

Just a quick update: damage satisfactorily repaired (still have a slight issue with the boot not closing every time, getting it sorted next week). Can honestly recommend both Mill Lane Accident repair centre and Fiat Accident care. Both dealt promptly (as promptly as holidays would allow) and were very courteous and efficient. They even cleaned the car inide and out! Most of the wait was due to Fiat/Abarth sending damaged parts (twice). Hopefully the boot issue will be resolved next week. Happy to get my car back!

Good to hear that all is well (or nearly well) and that you back motoring again in the right batmobile.(y)

Back on topic again, lol.

Nice one Mel, glad to hear the good news. (y)

i wish call fiat first treated me as well as the people ive recomended them too. they been messing me about some thing rotten, had accident on the 2nd july rang them straight away, they said they would do every thing for me, so far ive had to drive to ipswich to get their body shop to quote for repair, then they wont let them start work until parts are on site, today they ring me and say they cant get hold of my insurers to let them know whats going on so i have to. I then check with the 3rd party insurers to make sure they have been informed as call fiat fist have already confirmed to me that 3rd party has admitted liability so no cost to me. 3rd partys insurers say call fiat first have only told them of the accident today ( thats nearly 2 weeks later) and they havent been in contact with the other driver yet :bang:

also they say i have to buy a new kids car seat for the boy first and then send the recipt to claim it back. thats money i dont have :(

kids seats are like crash helmets if they have been in a crash they have to be replaced even if they look fine

Just a thought... If you were on a dual carriageway, did you not think of changing lanes to avoid the parked car....

Yeah Dave, he did. Seemed satisfied. I've asked him is there any structural damage to the chassis but he said no. Obviously I can only take his word for it... but I guess that if they can find more parts to replace they would, so I'm hopeful that that is all.

Main thing is a car can be repaired or replaced, there is only one YOU and the fact you came out of it OK is all that matters. Appreciate getting the damage repaired is a hassle and takes time and damned inconvenient.

Once it's all done and dusted you will look back on the event and put it down as an experience, hopefully not to be repeated.;)
