Whilst in the accessories dept at my local dealer, I picked up a box replacement bulbs kit for the 500 for about 19 quid. Deal or no deal? Includes 1 replacement for every exterior bulb available on the car plus 3 rear break/engine lightbulbs.
I take it its fairly easy to replace bulbs on our cars right? I've known certain manulfacturers make it really hard for you to reach in and take them out especially the main beam

Just had to replace one of the brake light bulbs. In most cars you just unclip the lining in the boot, unclip the light cluster & replace.
Fiat 500, you have to unscrew 2 screws to remove the whole light cluster externally then unclip the light cluster(n)....I was at work & had to borrow a friends spanner as the screw was so tight:bang:

2 brake light bulbs from halfords £2.79 though

Brake light bulb went on the way back from Cornwall today, this will be the fourth time I have replaced rear brake light bulbs, two on each side plus one rear indicator bulb. At least the bulbs on the rear are the easiest to replace.

You're obviously braking too much Tony! :p

I've got a slightly annoying problem that happens with my 500, about 3 times in the last 4 months it's said that the rear plate bulb is blown and everytime you turn the engine off and get out the light is back! The first time I got out with the engine running and the light was indeed off so I went inside and got my bulbs and tools and when I came out to see which side was blown the light was working. Stupid thing :p

FIATs traditional electrical excellence returns! :D;)

Yeah, I think I'll mention it when it goes in for a service if I take it to the Fiat dealership but as with all intermittent mistakes I'd be hugely surprised if they can find anything wrong. Oh well, there are worse things to be going wrong on a car tbh :)

i read on another forum that if you're not bleeding, you're not trying hard enough

Changing the bulbs in a 500 is an absolute bitch. The Main low beam lights are easy enough to replace i suppose, but when you get to the high beams you're in for a bit of a treat. It's got some sort of spring holding it in place and like i'd highly recommend getting a mirror on a metal stick (one of those small mirrors some mechanics have or like dentist) to help see what you're doing. About the Fog Lights i believe you have to take off the bumper.

I changed my bulbs cause i felt the bulbs in the 500 were absolute ****. Got some Phillips Power2nights i think they were. Replaced both low and high beams. Much whiter and brighter light (but be careful with the wattage i think, its specific, and like maker sure you dont get something that is too hot or else you'll burn the plastic on the headlight covers).
