Just had a call from the Lease company to say they've 'located a match' for my requested spec, and giving me an estimated dealer delivery date of 9th March. That makes it sound as though it's not being built from scratch - so I wonder why it will take so long? Is it perhaps because it's over in the factory still? Does it take that long to ship a car over?

I've just checked the status on the Lease website and my order now says 'Ordered - Stock. ETA 9/3/10'.

I guess it's good if they've found one that's already made? Means that I don't have to wait so long? Would be great if they can get it here just a little bit earlier than that - my birthday's on 8th March!!

I ordered mine around the first of november, and the they had to built it from scratch (because of all the extras ive ordered), and it arrived at the dealership 5 days ago.
But im guessing that it will take alittle longer to get hold of a 500c.

Of course it's built from scratch! You don't think they get an old Panda and kinda bash it into shape or Get a Punto and cut a few inches out of the middle. They may have found a car scheduled to go into production soon which is close to your spec by the sounds of it.
